More than two dozen economic development projects started here in the Lehigh Valley in the first half of 2023, according to the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp.
(See link to an article in this post’s first comment. Note: the article discusses five projects at some length, but states that there were 12, adding that some of the projects were expansions of established companies.)
Lehigh Valley is ranked second in the nation for mid-sized regions for the number of new/announced economic development projects, according to the article.
International business growth in our area is especially strong, with “more than two million square feet of space completed or announced,” according to the LVEDC’s article.
The projects are mostly for manufacturing/operations facilities in business sectors such as life sciences, consumer goods production, and food and beverage.
Why are the companies coming here or expanding?
Because we’re within a day’s drive of one-third of U.S. consumers and our “available and skilled workforce,” as the article put it.
The bottom line, as I see it?
We live in one of the BEST areas in the country to live and work. I’m absolutely blessed to be among the many smart people (!) who have chosen to do so!!
And…I have a question:
What keeps you here working/living/expanding your business in the Lehigh Valley?
