Weekly Highlights: December 1

Hiring Chaos

Hiring chaos?

I’ve noticed a pattern: every time a company starts to grow fast, it feels a little chaotic.

Processes lag.

Communication strains.

People stretch.

It’s normal.

Growth never feels clean.

The key is to recognize the difference between “growing pains” and “warning signs.”

One means your business is evolving.

The other means something’s breaking.

Good leaders can tell the difference — and they hire proactively to stay ahead of both.

Make-Up Matters

Make-up matters!

A while back, I met a candidate with less experience than the role called for.

Their references were amazing!

Each one highlighted work ethic, attitude, and follow-through.

That candidate went on to become one of my client’s best hires.

I’ve learned not to dismiss someone because of what’s missing on paper.

Sometimes, the things you can’t list — grit, loyalty, drive — make all the difference.

Patience

Patience…

It’s the most underrated skill in recruiting!

It’s easy to chase speed — to fill a role quickly and move on.

But recruiting isn’t just about transactions.

It’s about timing.

Sometimes the right candidate isn’t ready yet.

Sometimes the client’s not either.

When you give the process enough space to breathe, the results are almost always better.

Patience isn’t about waiting — it’s about allowing alignment to happen.
