What business sectors are taking off here in the Lehigh Valley?
As I mentioned in a previous post, the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LEVDC) has had some pretty terrific things to say about the recent – and continuing – economic growth in our region. (Link to an article on the organization’s website is in this post’s first comment.)
One of the brightest spots among bright spots is advanced manufacturing in the tech sector. This includes semiconductors and other electronic components, a sector which could get a
“boost” from the federal CHIPS and Science Act, which will provide $280 billion over the next ten years to increase semiconductor capacity, expand R and D and create regional technology hubs.
LEVDC also says it’s talking to state legislators about its talent supply initiative, which works to attract and retain a workforce that has the skills these types of employers need.
It’s an incredibly exciting time here in the Lehigh Valley. I’ve lived here my entire life and I can’t remember a time that exuded more promise and potential.
Potential and promise that I truly feel will come to fruition.
